Join the Causal Inference Collaboratory

Free registration for students attending Iowa Rural Health Association conference

Call for abstracts: 2025 Public Health Conference of Iowa
Anyone interested in presenting a concurrent session or poster is encouraged to submit abstracts focused on current and emerging public health issues. Deadline for submission is Oct. 27, 2024. Roberts to lead collaboratory focused on causal inference research
Emily Roberts, assistant professor of biostatistics in the University of Iowa College of Public Health, has been selected by the Institute for Public Health Practice, Research and Policy (IPHPRP) to establish a new collaboratory dedicated to advancing causal inference research. Research examines impact of ‘road diets’ on emergency response

Student-run workshop introduces girls to biostatistics, math, and coding
Last month, several graduate students from the Department of Biostatistics held an introductory coding and biostatistics workshop with fourth through sixth grade girls participating in the Neighborhood Centers of Johnson County’s (NCJC) after school program in Iowa City. Casteel, Kennelty land $17.9M award for hypertension management study
Two University of Iowa researchers have been approved for nearly $18 million to help older adults with multiple chronic medical conditions better manage their hypertension. CPH professor Carri Casteel is a dual-principal investigator on the award along with Korey Kennelty from the College of Pharmacy. CPH co-investigators include Jon Davis, Ryan Carnahan, and Joe Cavanaugh. Published April 24, 2024

Student Tabitha Peter awarded Fulbright to Colombia
