Tabletop Exercise Events
These 4-hour interactive discussion-based exercises will address how hospitals and long-term care facilities identify and respond to multidrug-resistant organism (MDRO) threats. These exercises will meet the CMS emergency preparedness exercise requirements.
The organism of focus for hospitals and long-term acute care facilities will be Candida auris (C. auris) and the organism of focus for long-term care facilities will be Carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii (CRAB).

Tabletop Exercise – CRAB
This in-person tabletop exercise for those that work in or with long term care facilities will take place at the Community Center at the Delaware County Fairgrounds in Manchester, Iowa. The organism of focus will be Carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii (CRAB). Individuals that should attend include those who are focused on: infection prevention and control, emergency preparedness, public health, medical/physician administration, emergency management agency, nursing administration, clinical support, administration, clinical laboratory, housekeeping, emergency medical services, etc.

This in-person tabletop exercise for those that work in or with long term care facilities will take place at the Schmoker Center at the Friendship Haven in Fort Dodge, Iowa. The organism of focus will be Carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii (CRAB). Individuals that should attend include those who are focused on: infection prevention and control, emergency preparedness, public health, medical/physician administration, emergency management agency, nursing administration, clinical support, administration, clinical laboratory, housekeeping, emergency medical services, etc.
