Hamann comments on Iowa law that expands ‘pedestrian’ definition

A new law signed by Gov. Kim Reynolds changes and expands the definition of “pedestrian” in Iowa code. The recently signed HF 2568 bill gives Iowans more protection when they cross the street.

Cara Hamann, director of training and education at the Injury Prevention Research Center, based at the University of Iowa, says broadening the legal description of pedestrian is an important change.
