UI researchers project continued spread of COVID-19

Researchers at the University of Iowa told state public health officials in early May that social distancing measures have been effective at slowing the spread of the coronavirus in the state, but they warned against relaxing those policies too soon. Researchers submitted two reports to the Iowa Department of Public Health on April 29 and May 4, according to Joe Cavanaugh, head of the university’s biostatistics department and a lead author on the reports.
