Laurie Walkner earned BS in nursing from Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and a MA in instructional design and technology from the University of Iowa. She has worked in family planning, clinical research in the area of reproductive endocrinology, occupational safety and health, community health planning, public health preparedness and public health workforce development. She has developed curriculum for academic and continuing education courses. She has served as the Coordinator for the MPH Practicum Experience since 1999. She advises students on their practicum experience and works closely with practice partners to identify practice opportunities.
